Day 13 - Night

I often think that the night is more alive and more richly colored than the day.
- Vincent Van Gogh

As we were driving home tonight after a great day with family, I watched all of the cars speeding down the freeway and wondered where people were going..what are their stories??

The lights flew past as we drove and reminded me of the speed at which life is flying by. Watching my kids with their great-grandparents tonight was a reminder of that. Guess we better hold on tight and go with it..it doesn't slow down for anyone!

Day 12 - Green

My little GREEN monster man! I spent my day with some very special people in celebration of a new baby boy! It was a wonderful day and thought I'd end it by sharing this photo of my baby boy :)

Day 10 - My Shoes

My shoes didn't get much use today. We drove from Arizona to California today for a visit with friends and family :)  Hubby drove the whole way, so I kicked my feet up and enjoyed the ride! Ahhhh vacation :D

Day 9 - Where I Work

I have so many places that I work, I had a hard time choosing ;)  As a stay at home mom, I do a lot of work, but the only thing that comes close to bringing in actual money for the family, is couponing. It's time-consuming and makes me crazy sometimes, but it's a great way to help out! I save so much money with them that I think they deserve their own special post tonight :)

Day 8 - A Fave Photo of Me

This isn't a photo, exactly, but I still love it :)  If it counts for anything, I did take this photo of the sketch. I completely forgot about it throughout the years, but luckily my mom kept it for me. This was sketched for the hubs and I at Disneyland when I was probably about 17. We used to go a few times a week to have dinner and hang out when we were "going out" ;)  Ahhh the good old days <3  It's now an antique piece of art that we look at now and then. Such simple times and we had no clue!

Day 7 - Handwriting

My favorite handwriting in the world :)  Cara (6), Rylee (5), Avery (3), Carter (2). It's interesting how everyone has a different handwriting style. Like their own unique stamp. I wonder where they will sign their names in the future...prescriptions, autographs for fans, legislation, novels...who knows!

Day 6 - Something I Hate To Do

Sick  /ˈsik/  adj  affected with disease or ill health.
I hate getting sick, but I'm currently in this state of "ill health". So, this seemed fitting for today's photo. I tried fighting it, but it's here. One person gets sick in our house and it's only a matter of time before the other five of us have it. Moms don't have time to get sick! That's something I've learned. Life must go on..dishes must be done, kids to be fed, *sneeze*, laundry, and all of the homework the kids missed when they were sick last week. At least it's a 3-day weekend. Healthy wishes to you!

Day 5 - Drink

My baby girl (she isn't growing up, no matter what anyone says!) getting a drink at the outdoor mall today. We tried so, so hard to have a fun day with the family. Weather was gorgeous, no school, no work. Alas, the kids were just incapable of having fun. After spending the week passing around a cold, it just didn't work. Poor things. We went to Avery's (almost four years old) first karate tournament in the morning (yay!)..but she wasn't having it. Not at all. She did eventually go and stand perfectly still and silent in front of the judges :P  For participating, she got a giant trophy that's taller than her and is all proud :)  Then, the two younger girls were begging to go to the mall and get the their ears pierced. Guess what? They freaked in the chair and we left. Going to the play area will solve the grumpy time, right? Not when Carter (2) runs, smacks his face on the cement and gives himself a bloody nose...We then went to the drinking fountain and all heck broke loose after that! Glad I caught one of the last, dwindling happy moments on camera! Complete failure of a family outing, but the most important part is that we were all together, right?? Lesson learned..we are not leaving the house tomorrow! I need a drink!! ;)

Day 4 - Time

Time. Our lives revolve around time. The day starts with an alarm clock letting us know that it's time to get the day started. We drop the kids off, go to work, eat lunch, come home, go to bed..all around the same times everyday. We all have a certain amount of time on this earth. None of us know when it's our time to leave this life, but it's our job to make the most of it. Live, love, learn..don't waste a moment of the precious gift of time.

Day 3 - Something New

Every morning is a fresh beginning. Every day is the world made new. Today is a new day. Today is my world made new. I have lived all my life up to this moment, to come to this day. This moment..this day..is as good as any moment in all eternity. I shall make of this day..each moment of this day..a heaven on earth. This is my day of opportunity.

Day 2 - Phone

After a long day, I always love seeing this pop up on my phone. The "I'm on my way home" call from the hubs. After 14 years of being together, my heart still flutters and I rush to answer it. My phone endures much abuse (from me), has logged several hours of Angry Birds from my kids, and is my connection to the world. Technology can sometimes make things feel distant and impersonal, but for this busy mom of four, it keeps me close to my loved ones on a daily basis. :)

Day 1 - Heart

Valentine's Day is a time for celebrating those we love most. Might be a time for making cookies with the kids or carving out a little time for...romance. However you spent the day, I hope you felt loved! <3

And so it begins..

Hey there! Today, on a whim, I decided to start a 365 day photo challenge and my first blog ever. I'm a stay at home mom with four young kids and recently acknowledged my addiction to taking pictures of..everything. I'm hoping this photo challenge will give me some focus while feeding my addiction. I'm sure some days, the photos won't be very interesting, but I will do my best. Here goes nothing!
